Trip to Thailand

Day 1 - 6 June 09
Arrived at Bangkok around 7pm, took a taxi to the hotel (apparently the taxi driver couldn't speak english. He almost took us to Chatucak market...).
Checked in to hotel (Ibis at Sathorn). The hotel was pretty new, the hotel room was small but quite nice and most importantly, clean!! But I didn't like the bed, it was too hard on my back..

After checked in to hotel, we decided to go to Suanlum market.. (night market). It turned out the market was close by the hotel so we could walk there.
At suanlum market we ate my first real Thai tom yum soup :) and Toma had chicken barberque with rice at a reasonable price... We ate in the open air food court, entertained with a bunch of Thai's singers and sexy dancers :). I think Toma was quite entertained hehehe

Day 2 - 7 June 09
Almost a whole day we spent in Chatucak weekend market.., shop shop shop...
The funny thing was, we forgot to bring our money (we stored most of them in the safe deposit box back in hotel). At first we thought we didn't need that much of money, but after looking around, and tempted by the reasonably cheap price, Toma decided to go back to hotel to get the cash hehehe..

At night we decided to check out Patpong (so-called the red light district of Bangkok). We were amazed that the clubs there were litterally "open". You could see the sexy dancers performance from the pedestrian.. We also accidentally walked in a soy (small road) where there were hotels on the side of the road and in front of them there were girls lined up to be picked up!! But we didn't spend that much time there. Maybe Toma would like to go back there with his friends =p

Day 3 - 8 June 09
Today's agenda: visit the Grand Palace..
At first we wanted to take a taxi straight to the palace, however the taxi driver said that there was traffic jam, so He won't take us there. He said we better take a riverboat tour with a price of 150 baht per person. We didn't want to take the tour, but he insisted and kindda insulted us. He said that we think to much for just that small amount of money. huh he should haven't done that!!!
Well anyway, we stopped at the nearest BTS station, and asked for information how to get to grand palace using public transportation. It turned out that we could take a riverboat from BTS Saphan Taksin.. for only about 13 baht!!! Lucky we didn't follow the taxi driver's suggestion.
We looked around the grandpalace for a while.. It was a nice palace, and the wat was so "sparkly". But it was very very hot there...
From grandpalace we decided to go to Siam shopping center and its surrounding malls :)

Day 4 - 9 June 09
We went to Siam square, MBK, and had a thai massage :) and then we headed to airport to go to Phuket...

At Phuket airport we took a minibus van (about 150 baht per person) for transfer to hotel. Checked in to Yorkshire Hotel. The hotel had a good location, only 5 minutes walk to the Patong beach and had a quite good night life but not too loud.

Day 5 - 10 June 09
Trip to Phi-phi Island, Maya bay, etc...
At first we sat on the front of the boat, i didn't like it since it was too bumpy.. makes me sick.
Afterwards we sat on the back and I felt better.
Maya bay had a very nice beach.. it was used for Leonardo Di Caprio's movie setting, The beach.
We went snorkeling, swimming and relaxing on the beach.
I had sunburt afterwards, but it was worth it!!

Day 6 - 11 June 09
Relaxed day..
Went to Simon Cabaret in the evening.
The ladyboys were very pretty... and they had a nice body, slim legs.. whoa!!

Day 7 - 12 June 09
Early in the morning we headed to the airport to go to Bangkok.
At Bangkok we took a taxi to go to our hotel, Best Western. The hotel is quite new, but small. It was a boutique hotel I think. The hotelroom was nicer than we had in Ibis, but the hotel location was not really good. It was quite far from the BTS station. But we were not complaining.. after all it was our holiday!!!
We then spent the rest of the day just mall hopping :)

Day 8 - 13 June 09
Went back to Chatucak weekend market again hehehe..
Finished up our shopping for oleh2..
After that we headed back to airport to go home..
Bye Thailand!!!

Cita - cita

Pada inget gak waktu kecil dulu kita suka tuker2an "buku kenangan" sama temen2..?
Kita tulis di buku kenangan temen kita biodata, nama, alamat, cita2, kata kenangan, dll..
Terus kita hias2 dan kadang kita tempelin foto?

G selalu bingung mau tulis apa di kolom cita-cita..
Karena rasanya dari kecil gak punya cita-cita..
Walaupun kata pepatah.. "Gantungkan cita-citamu setinggi bintang di langit",
I just want to be rational...

Some kids already know from early on what they want to be when they grow up.
Well I guess I'm not that type.
I'm the "go with the flow" type..
Or you could say.. I just have no idea what my passion is.. or what I'm good at...

Beberapa pekerjaan yang pernah g list down di "buku kenangan" temen:
1. Doctor - hey I think every kids want to be a doctor, right??
2. Lawyer - this was around the LA Law era.. and some other movie about lawyer that I don't remember the title.. It's the one with a mute lawyer, using sign language..

Back then I knew exactly the right second after I wrote down those jobs that I didn't really mean it..
Those were not what I wanted to be when I grew up...
And it's true! Later as I grew up, I found out that I hated biology and I didn't like to debate (mind you, I'm a phlegmatic person).. so that was the end of it..

So when I have to choose my major in college.. I just choose what I think I'm capable of..
That certainly does not include biology and law (since I don't like memorizing stuff) and physics (since I was sucks).
I chose accounting..
Well.., numbers make sense to me..
Accounting makes sense to me..
It's easier than physics or mathematics..
It does not require memorizing stuff that much..
And everybody says that every companies need an accountant..

So here I am ended up being an ex-auditor - slash - financial consultant.
But still, I haven't found my passion yet..
I don't know if I want to stay in this career path..
Well, I do know that this is not what I want to do for the rest of my life..
I'd like to do something else..
Something that I'm looking forward to when I wake up in the morning..
Something that I can smile about in my dreams..

Well setelah vakum ngeblog for about 4 years..
rasanya blog ini udah ga pernah dikunjungin siapa2 ya.. hehe :)

I'm the kind of person who doesn't like to maintain diaries..

I used to do it back when I was a teenager..

But everytime I read my diaries.. I felt so ashamed on what I've written and ended up torn the diaries into pieces and threw it away in trash can.

I was ashamed with my foolishness, my insecurities, my stupid thought..



But now I reach into the point where I would like to share to someone..

But I don't know if I can or I should..

Damn stupid hormones..

Maybe I should once again keeping diaries...

Reminiscing..

A lot of things have happened since I last blog. To make it simple, I summarized the major occasion only:

1. Getting Married..
I finnaly tie the knot with Toma on 16 July 206. I know it seems like a rush decision knowing that I only knew him for a relatively short period of time, but it's been mmmm.. let me count first, 6 months!! and my life has never been happier.
For you who are thinking to get married, please don't hesitate to do so.. but only to the right person.. How can I be sure that he is the right person, you asked.., well I guess you just knew..

2. Resign from PwC and Come back to PwC...
Another sudden decision that I made. I resigned from PwC on mid September 2006 and worked at Optik Melawai for a week only. Then decided to resign from it and apply to another companies until I was accepted back in PwC, not in audit services (thank God), but in transaction services. I guess everything happens for a reason.. and I thank God for it. I used to regret my decision leaving the firm at the first place, but if I didn't I may not have the chance to work in PwC-TS.

You may have few questions about PwC TS, Toma, the reason why I left Optik Melawai, well.. I'll explain more about them later yah..
Now I'm just too hungry I guess.

Gua diterima di Pricewaterhouse Coopers (panjang yak hehee)!!!! senangnya... hehehe :)
Berkat Tuhan deh soalnya hrdnya pertama kali telpon gua ga angkat.. terus dia telpon lagi buat set up test.. udah gitu pas set up interview jg gitu dia nelpon gua lagi ga angkat, terus dia nelpon lagi akhirnya buat setup interview... :)

Terus ya dibantuin jg ama Selvi.. hehee dikasih bocoran pertanyaan interview hehehe..

Yang pasti seneng banget seneng banget hehehe :) mule kerja tanggal 18 oct jd ya ada waktu dikit buat santai2 hehehe sebelum kerja berat membanting tulang.. hehehe

Ok deh gini dulu updetnya ya..

Gua dah berenti kerja hehehe.. padahal baru seminggu doang kerjanya..
Gara2nya gua mau dikirim ke Singapore buat training minggu ini.. dan abis gitu mesti kontrak 2 taun sama dia.. terus ga tau gimana gua kok ga sreg ya.. takut ga sukakerjaannya.. padahal ya lingkungan danorang2nya baik sih.. gaji jg mayan... tp gua kepengen kerja di kantor akuntan :(

Skrg belom ada yang nerima gua hiks hiks hehehe...

Seperti kt temen gua.. you gain some you loose some... :)
tp ya gua pede aja lah.. yakin pasti ada yang lebih baik lagi hehehe....

Agak2 males ngeblog nih.. maap ya... salahin internet indo yang lama heehehe.. :)

Gua dah dapet kerja nihhh... di Hyperintel Solutions.. coba liat di www.hyperintel.com jadi dia legal associatenya Hyperion yang pusatnya di Sunnyvale, CA... terus kalo di Asia Pacific sih pusatnya di Singapore..

Kantornya di Sudirman.. jadi pulang pergi naik busway hehe karena 3 in one.. cuman ya enak lah.. cepet ga macet... Terus suasana kantornya jg enak.. friendly banget.. ga boleh panggil Pak ke atasan hehe panggil nama doang.. dan ya yang kerja situ masih pada muda2 sih... gaji dan kompensasi jg lumayan...

Terus mm.. tp tadi pas lagi kerja ada telp dr Pricewaterhouse Cooper.. hiks2 pengen banget kerja disitu.. dia mau setup interview.. tp karena gua ga angkat jd dia kasih ke orang lain dulu.. ktnya mungkin next week lah interviewnya.. sedih ya.. udah gitu PT unilever jg kirimin applikasi minta aku ngisi..

kayanya aturan begitu dateng apply dulu ke company2 gede.. kalo ga ada jawaban baru coba apply2 ke company lain.. bukannya buru2 kayak gini ya?? tp dah kepengen kerja sih.. hiks.. skrg jd bingung.. kalo interview di PWC terus gimana caranya minta ijin dll??? bingung bingung.. dilema hehehe...

Ya sudah lah sekian updet dr gua

Wahh.. lama nih ga ngeblog.... gara2 internet indo yang lamanyaaa minta ampun hehehe...

Anyway.. akhir2 ini banyak ktemu temen2 lama... temen2 smp yang udah 8 taun ga ketemu... atao temen2 sma.. dan temen2 kecil lainnya... terus crita sana sini... amazed jg kalo ada orang yang berubah banget... misalnya dulunya biasa aja dan rada2 nyebelin... sekarang jd cakep kaya dan keren hehehe...

Jadi inget lagunya avril lavigne.. apa judulnya ya... oo itu sk8ter boi... ya ceritanya dia ditolak ama ce gaul.. eh terus in the future itu cowok malah terkenal gitu rockin in MTV... sementara cenya yang cmn gigit jari hehehe...

moga2 temen2 kecil gua ato temen lama yang dah ga pernah ketemu ga ada yang pernah sakit ati ya ma gua... kalo misalnya ada kesalahan.. mohon maaf sebesar2nya..

Hidup di indo so far so good... enjoy jg... cuman ya belom lengkap aja.. belom ada kerjaan dan tujuan hidup yang pasti hehehe... lagi proses sih panggilan test sana sini.. :)

Yah cuman kadang bingung aja kalo ketemu temen yang ambisius banget ... mau bebas financial.. mau ini mau itu... sementara gua kok ga banyak maunya ya? Takut kalo ntar in the future gua menyesal ngabisin waktu bengong2 doang waktu muda...

ya dah deh.. hehee.. bingung jdnya mo ngomong apa.. ehhehe

Udah di indo...
ternyata enak jg ya... deket ama keluarga dan temen2 hehehe... aku enjoy jg..
Cuman mau beraniin nyetir hehe soalnya kalo ga, ga bisa kemana2 ga enak jg...
terus surprisingly udara indo ga gitu panas... ga tau rumahku adem sih banyak anginnya dan ada AC.. hehee di vancouver kan lagi panas2nya dan banyakan rumah2 ga ada AC hehehe..

Terus mungkin bakalan jarang updet blog ni.. soalnya internetnya lamaaaaaa banget.. well ga lama2 banget sih cuman kebiasaan disana pake cable cepet.. jdnya rada ga sabaran.

Terus kemaren liat video om-ku married... jadi dia itu punya anak 3, terus istrinya meninggal terus sekarang married lagi... dan gua salut banget sama istrinya itu.. dia bisa baik sama ketiga anak om gua.. dan bisa tinggal ama mertuanya om gua alias papa mamanya istri om gua yang meninggal itu... bayangin ya... ya mungkin anak2nya dan mertuanya baik sih.. emang udah ditanyain dulu setuju ga om gua married lagi.. tp kan tetep susah...
wong kadang2 mertua asli aja susah diambil hatinya hehehe...

ok deh.. nanti disambung lagi.. :)

Update about myself

Sekarang gua lagi di JAL lounge di Narita Airport, Japan.... lohhhhh hehehe Gimana bisa sampe sini?????

Jumat lalu tanggal 30 july ampe tanggal 2 agustus aku pergi camping... sama Ely`s family ＆Bbrp family dr gereja semuanya ada 18 orang... wah seru jg tidur di tenda hehehe terus mandinya pake koin sedollar ato sedollar fifty buat 5 menit doang!!!　Hehehehe kan pikirnya ga cukup eh ternyata cukup aja bisa keramas segala lagi... malahan ada yang satu token buat 2 orang hehehehe

Terus dasar orang indo kalo kemana2 pasti bawa makanan　Camping weekend doang dapur pindah hehehe bawa rice cooker, kompor, grill, terus makanannya ada siomay, bubur ayam, Opor, ayam rica, daging asem manis, tempe, bakso goreng, dll daging asem manis, tempe, bakso goreng, dll dll hebat ga tuh hehehehe mrk pada bawa di cooler box...

Terus　Seperti biasa kita digging clam (shellfish) and picking oyster... terus dimasak jg... and picking oyster... terus dimasak jg... tp kali　Ini aku ga makan abisan udah eneg hehee

Having fun jg di camping itu.. mAen2 kartu main bola hehehe tapi aku digigit serangga ampe bengkak.. serem ga sih

Anyway terus pulang dr camping　Besoknya hari selasa tanggal 3 juni aku beres2 rumah.. selasa tanggal 3 juni aku beres2 rumah... pindahan semua barangnya ke tempat ely.. dan kasih2 orang banyak jg yang dibuangin..hehehe oh well.. terus udah deg2an aja koper ditimbang sekitar 33^34 kilo gitu padahal limitnya 32 kilo

Malemnya pergi makan sama Gloria and Linda and their boyfriends and their parents, mrk ngajak makan aku buat farewell gitu.. oh ya btw Gloria and Linda itu my roomate hehehe... Ngajak makan di banana Leaf.. they are all so nice to me.. barang2ku aja ada bbrp masi belom beres mrk blg it:s ok mrk yang buangin atau donate ke salvation army hehehe... terus kita tukeran email address gituu

Pulang dari sono pergi ke Estea minum bubble tea diajakin　Bareng Ko Firman dan Inge, Joe, Mei, Juju mrk kasih Aku kartu and little gift wahhh terharu hehehehehe...

Terus semuanya kayak dream aja besoknya tanggal 4 agustus fly ke airport dianterin ely, his mom and ella. Yoan ga bisa nganter karena dia sekolah.. dia kasih aku leontin kalung sebelum Pergi... hehehehe

Terus fly deh about 9 hours to Narita, Japan abis gitu nginep di hotel... karena jetlag jam 12 malem bangun (jam 8 pagi waktu vancouver) terus paksa2in tidur.. eh pagi waktu vancouver) terus paksa2in tidur.. eh lagi tidur ada earthquake... tadi pikirnya aku mimpi eh ternyata setelah tanya orang indo yang travelling together ternyata bener sayangnya aku masih rada2 ngantuk jadi ga bener2 ngeh kalo itu earthquake..

Udah gitu the sad thingnya pesawatku didelay sampe jam 5.45 Aturan jam 11.25 so here i am stuck di japan airline lounge... with japanese laptop yang salah pencet sedikit huruf kanji deh yang keluar hehehehehe...

Long way back home....

Pindahan...
 
Sejak pertama kali jauh dari ortu, aku udah pindahan 4 kali... dan sekarang mau yang ke 5 kali balik lagi ke ortu.. hehehe... ampir tiap taun pindahan hehehe..
Terus tiap kali pindahan pasti banyak banget buangin barang.. bill2, kertas2 ga berharga, barang2 tak berharga hehe, terus donate baju2 yang udah gak dipake lagi.. dll dll..

Heran ya..
1. Kenapa ga pindahan yang pertama semua dibuangin aja jadi ntar pas pindahan lagi ga usah repot.... Ada beberapa barang yang aku bawa2 dari pindahan 4 kali.. akhirnya sekarang dibuang jg hehehe...
2. How much junk stuff I accumulated for a year..

Pheww.... pindahan cape jg yaa....

 

Packing.. packing...

Akhirnya... pulang indo jg for good nih.. well for extended time at least.. hehehe... it's all for the best I guess... Aku bakal pulang indo dr sini tanggal 4 agustus sampe di indo tanggal 6 agustus... :) gara2 time difference (indo 14 hours lebih maju loh) sama nginep dulu di Jepang..

Sekarang lagi packing2 barang.. barang2 yang ga perlu didonate.. terus yang masi bagus2 dikasih2 orang... hehehe... Bajuku ternyata muat loh satu koper!!! amazing ga tuh... cuman jaket2 dll ditinggal sih... hehehe... Ada yang butuh barang2? rice cooker, panci2, piring, gelas, mangkok?? kalo ada kasih tau ya....

Terus seneng, bossku yang dulu kasih surat rekomendasi bagus banget... muji2 aku gitu hehehe.. ktnya pernah menangani account $1.5 million hauehau... iya sih kalo dipikir2 cuman ga kerasa segitu gede hehehe.. :)

Ya dah deh..back to packing lagi... :)

Semua orang, suku bangsa, negara, gender punya stereotyping buat yang lain..
Misalnya:
Orang indonesia asli bilang orang cina indonesia itu pelit2
Orang cina indo bilang orang indo asli itu tukang foya2 ga bisa nabung

Even diantara orang cina indo sendiri punya stereotype buat daerah2, misalnya:
Orang cina jakarta bilang orang cina jawa itu pelitnya minta ampun
Orang cina jawa bilang orang jakarta suka foya2 dan show off

Gak hanya di indonesia aja... di semua dunia jg begitu...
Orang asia bilang orang bule itu terlalu bebas, terlalu independent
Orang bule bilang orang asia itu rajin2
Orang puerto rico bilang orang dominica itu semua drug dealer dan miskin
Orang dominica bilang orang puerto rico terlalu kebarat2an

Sesama bangsa, suku dan ras tp beda gender dan umur jg punya stereotype...
Cewek bilang cowok itu tukang boong
Cowok bilang cewek itu tukang belanja
Anak2 bilang ibu tiri itu sadis
dsb.. dsb...dsb....

Padahal kan gak selalu gitu ya?

Human nature suka menganggap dirinya yang paling bener, gaya hidup paling ok... padahal gak begitu sebenernya. Kemaren denger perumpamaan di gereja bagus jg..

Gini: ibaratnya masuk surga itu seperti masuk nonton bioskop..  dan uang yang buat beli tiket itu ibarat our good deeds...

Kita yang dibesarkan dari keluarga baik2, gak pernah nyolong, gak pernah bunuh orang, gak pernah korupsi, gak pernah apa2... tp benci banget sama mertua... Good deeds kita senilai $9
Si A yang dibesarkan dari keluarga screw up, besar jd drug dealer, suka main cewek, suka boongin orang, suka nyolong, dll Good deedsnya mungkin cuman senilai $1

Kita dan si A dua2nya gak bisa masuk bioskop itu..
Karena untuk masuk bioskop butuh tiket seharga $10

Jadi kalo mau masuk surga, harus bener2 melakukan semua yang diminta Tuhan.. even hal2 kecil seperti gak bisa memaafkan jg counts.. emang semuanya Tuhan yang kasih grace.. cuman kita jg harus berusaha. Jangan anggap diri sendiri lebih dari yang lain.
